Yep it's pretty hard to believe but it's 10 years since we started Arch Hill Recordings. Since then we've also been involved in all kinds of musical stuff - including Mystery Girl Presents. We are extremely proud to have released over 45 albums/EPs by local icons such as The Clean, Don McGlashan, David Kilgour, The Bats, Jay Clarkson and David Mulcahy, some pretty sweet cuts by Luke Buda, The Haints of Dean Hall, Ghostplane, Bachelorette, Fang, Grand Prix, White Swan Black Swan, Pine, Mestar, Punches, Surf City and internationals Beach House and Panda Bear. We are looking forward to working with Street Chant and Family Cactus. And we've done all this 100% independently!
Anyway, we figured the best way to celebrate was to kick back with a BBQ and a beer on a Sunday afternoon at the Kings Arms and listen to some excellent bands...
....however, to add some mistique we've decided to keep line up a bit of a mystery/secret. This is partly because we think it makes it more interesting, but also partly because there are all kinds of possibilities. Who knows who might turn up and play!
There might be a band originally from the 1990s where all three members went on afterwards to have somehow have something to do with Arch Hill - including our first ever release, maybe another band who started in the 1980's but just released their last album on Arch Hill, maybe some other bands with more to do with Mystery Girl Tours and also some other recently formed bands to keep those with shorter memories happy....plus other surprises as well!...whoever it is we do know it will be choice. Hell, we might even surprise ourselves!
It's going to be an interesting musical lucky dip.
Kicks off at 3pm. BBQ will be cooking between 5-7pm, with vege, non vege and tasty options.
Tickets a stupidly cheap $5 at the door.

The Clean have made a new video for "Are you Really on Drugs" from their excellent album Mister Pop...
Watch the Clean "Are You Really On Drugs" Video
Video by Theo Angell
They also got into MAGNET MAGAZINE'S top 20 albums of 2009...where they wrote
"A band that releases five albums in 30 years isn’t exactly what you would call prolific. Still, it’s hard to hold anything against the Clean. Between Robert Scott and brothers David and Hamish Kilgour, the three members have released more than 30 albums with other projects. Knowing this almost makes an LP from the Clean even more of an event. They could do this whenever they wanted. Mister Pop is not the easy-to-digest collection of simple pop songs the band could have made. It’s not some grand comeback record, either. Devoid of any pressure, the result is a really great, relaxed and eclectic pop album."
