Burger Fuels BARF Prize was awarded this morning to Surf City, as voted for by the public. Surf City's manager took the call live on 95bFM and was suitably stoked. He commented that he though that the award was by far the best NZ Music Month initiatve ever! Cheese on Toast spoke to lead singer Davin Stoddard this morning "...we're pretty psyched" he said, and continued, "my minds reeling a little, thinking about having all the gear, and its no strings, it seems too good to be true." In his typically dry sense of humour Davin added "We're are really happy, we would like to thank god our parents, our families, helen clarke..hahaha, yeah and anyone who voted for us.". Burger Fuel's Aaron Carson indicated earlier that the band would be given the cash next week - so don't try and get them to buy you a beer tonight at Battles. When quizzed what they plan to spend the money on Stoddard confirmed that it'll probably be spent on gear and plane tickets - we asked where to and wrying he replied "I hear Tuscany is nice this time of year."
