Gigs and Bits - Punches, Pine and Grand Prix |
Other Gigs and Bits Punches are playing at SXSW at the Afternoon Patio Parties at Mrs Beas...they will be on at 3.30pm on Wednesday March The 14th. Grand Prix are playing support for the Lemonheads in Wellington on Tuesday 27th March and Pine are are doing likewise in Christchurch on Wednesday 28th of March. The Auckland Lemonheads show is on Monday 28th of March (with the Tutts). Pine have a new EP in the bag, and while we don’t want to reveal too much about it just yet, it will contain a few special surprises and goodies.

A busy few weeks of Arch Hill related gigs coming up...for some of us (in Auckland) ...next week it’s Wednesday at The Haints of Dean Hall with Jolie Holland, on Thursday we will be at The Haints of Dean Hall with the Broken Heartbreakers and Steve Abel, on Friday it’s off to Punches, Voom and Sam Scott and Saturday will be Don McGlasghan and the Seven Sisters, with the Reduction Agents and the Nudie Suites...cripes! The full details in chronological order are ...and some fliers attached Punches ...on tour with Voom and Sam Scott’s Bunnies on Ponies Thursday 17th August., Dunedin, Arc Café (OK, that’s already happened!) Friday 18th August, Christchurch, Dux de Lux. Saturday 19th August, Wellington, Bodega. Friday 25th August, Auckland, Dogs Bollix. Saturday 26th August, Leigh, Leigh Sawmill Café The Haints of Dean Hall OK, so I know I said there aren’t too many chances to see them live – well, er, they are back. They enjoyed playing the songs so much a super enthusiastic crowd at the Odeon they had to do it again. Their album continues to get top notch reviews, in addition to five stars in the Sunday Star Times the Christchurch Press gave the album four and a half stars, Graham Reid lived it and plenty of other people have been giving them the big thumbs up. Wednesday 23rd of August, with Jolie Holland at the Kings Arms Thursday 24th of August, with The Broken Heartbreakers and Steve Abel Don McGlashan and the Seven Sisters Having just had the album nominated for Best Produced Album (along with Sean Donnelly and Ed Cake), and on the back of four weeks in the top 20, heaps of great reviews and lots of general goodness Don and his Seven Sisters decided it was time to get into the pub and strum it up! Saturday 26th August at the Kings Arms with the Reduction Agents and the Nudie Suites.
